How to Set Up Spotify for Podcasters (Anchor) Automation to Auto-Post Your Podcast Episodes to Social Media

This guide shows you how to set up Spotify for Podcasters automation in Nuelink. Once it's set up, every new podcast episode you publish automatically turns into a social media post, so your listeners hear about it the moment it's live.


Note: Spotify for Podcasters was previously known as Anchor. To follow this guide, you'll need a Nuelink account, at least one connected social media channel, and the link to your podcast.

Step-by-Step Guide


  1. Go to Automations in the left sidebar. Click the Add Automation button in the corner.

  1. Find and select Spotify for Podcasters from the list of sources, then click Add Automation.

  1. Paste your podcast link into the Spotify for Podcasters Podcasts Link field at the top.

  1. Set up your Post Caption. This is the text that goes out with each post. You can write your own, and you can add more than one version. To insert each episode's details automatically, use these variables: {{title}}, {{link}}, {{website}}, {{description}}, {{spotify_url}}, and {{duration}}.

    (Optional) Turn on AI captions to let Nuelink write a caption for each episode. Just write a short prompt describing what you want, and the AI creates the caption for you. (Optional) Click Add Fallback Caption to set a backup caption. Nuelink uses it if your main caption can't be filled in.

  2. (Optional) Add a Post title. This is used on YouTube, Pinterest, and Facebook videos. You can leave it as {{title}} to use each episode's title.

  1. (Optional) Turn on Auto thread long captions to split long captions into a thread on X, Threads, Mastodon, and Bluesky.

  1. Under Choose post format, pick how your episodes are shared, as a Link Post or an Image Post.

  1. Choose which episodes to bring in. Importing existing podcasts as well as future ones is on by default. Turn it off to import only new episodes from now on. When it's on, set the Number of Posts to Import (any value between 1 and 100).

  1. (Optional) Turn on Mark the posts as draft for later review to save each imported post as a draft, so you can check and edit it before it goes live.

  1. (Optional) Turn on Publish Immediately. Nuelink checks hourly, publishes your latest post right away, and queues the rest.

  1. (Optional) Turn on Send a follow-up comment to add an automatic first comment to each post, handy for dropping a link or a call to action. Write your comment (you can use the same variables as your caption), then set the Condition to choose when it's added, such as a number of minutes after publishing.

  1. (Optional) Turn on Use smart conditions to let Nuelink decide the best moment to add your follow-up comment.

  1. Choose your collection. Creating a new collection for this automation is on by default, so Nuelink makes a fresh collection for your podcast posts. To use a collection you already have, turn this off and pick one from the list.

  1. (Optional) Open Advanced Options to fine-tune a few more settings:
    • Check frequency: how often Nuelink looks for new episodes. The default is Every 24 Hours.
    • Auto-clean links: removes UTM and tracking bits from links before posting. Applies to the {{link}} shortcode only.
    • Use a custom user agent; this lets Nuelink's requests use a custom identifier, which helps when a source blocks default crawlers.

  1. Click Add Spotify for Podcasters Automation to finish.

That's it! You're ready to go! Nuelink now imports your episodes and checks your podcast for new ones. Each new episode is added to your collection, ready to share across your connected channels.


Setting Up Your Collection


A collection is the folder your automated posts go into. It decides which channels your posts publish to, when they go out, and how your content keeps flowing over time. Setting it up well is what makes your episodes appear on the right platforms at the right times.

If you turned on Create a new collection for this automation during setup, Nuelink made a fresh collection for you. Open it from Collections in the left sidebar, then set up these options:


  1. Collection name. Give your collection a clear name (like "Podcast Episodes") so it's easy to find later.

  1. Default channels. Choose which connected social accounts this collection posts to. Every episode this automation brings in will go out to these channels.

  1. Time slots (posting schedule). Set the days and times your posts go out. Nuelink adds each new episode to the queue and publishes it in the next open slot.

  1. Queue controls. Manage the flow of your scheduled posts. You can pause the queue to hold posts, resume it to start again, and shuffle it to mix up the order.

  1. Evergreen recycling. Turn this on to automatically re-share your top-performing posts, so your best episodes keep getting seen without any extra work.

  1. Save your changes. From now on, every episode this automation brings in follows this collection's channels, schedule, and settings.

If you'd rather use a collection you already set up, turn off Create a new collection for this automation during setup and pick your existing one from the list; it keeps the channels, time slots, and other settings you've already chosen.


FAQs


I used to know this as Anchor. Is it the same thing? 

Yes. Anchor is now called Spotify for Podcasters, and the automation works the same way. Just paste your podcast link during setup.


Will my older episodes get posted too? 

By default, Nuelink imports both your existing episodes and any new ones you publish. To import only new episodes, turn off Import existing podcasts as well as future ones.


How many past episodes can I import? 

You can set the Number of Posts to Import to any value between 1 and 100.


How soon will a new episode get posted? 

Nuelink checks your podcast based on the Check frequency setting (every 24 hours by default). If you turn on Publish Immediately, your latest episode goes out right away, and the rest are queued.


Do I have to make a new collection? 

No. Creating a new collection for this automation is on by default, but you can turn it off and choose an existing collection instead.


Troubleshooting


My episodes aren't showing up in Nuelink. 

Double-check that you pasted the correct podcast link during setup. Nuelink checks for new episodes based on your Check frequency, so give it up to a day before the first episodes appear.


Posts are being created but not published. 

Make sure your collection has at least one connected social channel and that your queue isn't paused. Go to your collection, check the connected channels, and resume the queue if needed.


I only want new episodes, but old ones were imported. 

Edit the automation, turn off Import existing podcasts as well as future ones, then remove any older imported posts you don't want to share.


My links look messy with tracking codes. 

Open Advanced Options and turn on Auto-clean links to strip UTM and tracking parameters from your {{link}} shortcode.
