How to Set Up Instagram Crossposting

Make sure you're logged in to your Nuelink account and have connected your Instagram and other social media channels. If not, you can connect them following these steps, and let's set up your Instagram crossposting to auto-post your Reels, Carousel, and images to your other social media channels.

Note: After you set this automation, you need to post from the Instagram app or desktop for your posts to get cross-posted to the other platforms set up in the automation. If you would like to post content to all your socials from Nuelink, read here.

Set up Instagram Crossposting Automation

  1. First, click on Automations on the navbar on the left side of the screen.

  1. Click the Crosspost section, then click on Add Automation under the Instagram Crossposting Icon.

  1. Select your Instagram channel to post content from.

  1. Select the Channels you want to post your Instagram content to.

Note: Due to some API restrictions, you can't cross-post to other Instagram accounts. If you would like to share the same post on multiple Instagram accounts, create a post on Nuelink and select your Instagram accounts at once.

  1. More options for crossposting.

Add posts to a collection: Choose a collection of yours to schedule the cross-posted content following its schedule, or you can leave this option off to cross-post your content directly after it’s shared on the Instagram app

Post title: The Post Title for Pinterest, YouTube, and Facebook videos works by taking the first part of the original caption. The {{caption}} acts as a placeholder for the original post's caption.

Set up a follow-up comment: it’ll be added to your post after it’s shared automatically. You can enhance it with NueAI or use it to generate your comment with a prompt. Don’t forget to adjust the delay time for the comment to be added to your posts.

Type of posts to crosspost: Choose what type of content you would like to auto-share. You can select all types of posts or specify to share only single images, carousel, or reels.

Specify hashtag: Specify to only share content with a specific hashtag of your choice.

7. Click on Add Instagram Crossposting Automation, and you are done.

Now whenever you create a post from your Instagram Application or Desktop, it will be cross-posted to your other platforms.

📕 We check your Instagram every hour for new posts and add them to your collection.

Instagram Crossposting FAQs & Troubleshooting:

Can I cross-post posts that I publish from Nuelink?

No. Instagram cross-posting automation only works for posts that are published directly from the Instagram app or Instagram desktop. If you want to publish a post to multiple platforms from Nuelink, you can create a post in Nuelink and select all the social media accounts you want to post to.

What types of Instagram posts can be cross-posted?

You can cross-post:

  • Reels
  • Single image posts
  • Carousel posts

You can also choose to cross-post all types of content or limit the automation to specific types only.

Can I crosspost Instagram Stories?

No. Instagram Stories are not supported for crossposting because Instagram does not provide API access for them.

Can I crosspost to multiple Instagram accounts?

No. Due to Instagram API limitations, crossposting from one Instagram account to another Instagram account is not supported. If you want to publish the same content to multiple Instagram accounts, you can create a post directly in Nuelink and select all the Instagram accounts you want to publish to.

Why didn’t my Instagram post crosspost automatically?

There could be several reasons:

  • The automation is not enabled/paused.
  • The Instagram account is not properly connected.
  • The post type is not included in the automation settings.
  • The post does not include the required hashtag (if hashtag filtering is enabled).

Nuelink has not yet checked your account (it checks every hour).

What happens if I select “Add posts to a collection”?

If you choose this option, your cross-posted content will be added to the selected collection and published according to that collection’s schedule.

If you leave this option disabled, the content will be shared immediately after Nuelink detects the Instagram post.

What does the {{caption}} placeholder mean?

The {{caption}} placeholder automatically inserts the original Instagram caption into the post when it is cross-posted. This is useful for platforms like Pinterest, YouTube, or Facebook, where a post title may be required.

Can I automatically add a comment to cross-posted content?

Yes. You can enable the follow-up comment feature to automatically add a comment after the post is published. You can also generate the comment using NueAI and choose how long Nuelink should wait before posting the comment.

Can I crosspost only specific posts from Instagram?

Yes. You can limit crossposting by enabling the Specify Hashtag option. Only Instagram posts that include the selected hashtag will be cross-posted.

Do I need to keep Nuelink open for the automation to work?

No. Once the automation is created, it runs automatically in the background. You don’t need to keep Nuelink open.

How often does Nuelink check for new Instagram posts?

Nuelink checks your Instagram account approximately every hour for new posts. Once a new post is detected, it will automatically be cross-posted to the platforms you selected in the automation.
